Sharkey Superstar

I am a little over-excited about this little number I whipped up this week.

Sharkey Coat Rack has real super-sharp Shark teeth and Sinister Slitty Shell eyes.

The D says we should keep him and I am really tempted but I really do have to let this baby fly the coup.... So swim well my sharp little sharkey baby...
See more about him here.

Time for a Cool Change

Just in the process of transforming my ugly dull and boring old fridge into a fantastic orange wonderland as it has to move into my new kitchen.
Why not buy a lovely new shiny stainless steel one you say? Ahem, no money left!

So I have just applied the first coat of Resene Lustacryl in Grenadier Orange and I am amazed at how a once boring 90's fridge now looks like it is fresh out of a 70's decorating magazine.
See the wizardry...

Admittedly it is probably a little hard for you to appreciate the enormity of the transformation without a before photo...but whoops the batteries on the camera went flat and I couldn't wait for them to charge...just had to get painting.
(Fear-not the hideous white sides they will be covered by orange panel when the fridge is in situ)

Not at all Flappy or Hairy

I saw one of these today...looks fairly unassuming you say.
Well yes, it does...

So why then is it called a Clavia? A Toyota Clavia.

Clavia,
Clavia
Sounds like Labia

Ahem...
Is it just me?

Loot and Stainless Steel

A little bit of loot that came my way on my birthday....

Bubble presented me with a Lego creation.

And our new Stainless Steel bench arrived, yippee!
It looks quite spiffy! Just waiting for the Plumber and Electrician so we can get connected....

Older This Week

What a busy week it is shaping up to be.

It's my birthday on Friday (29 again), Yay!
I am hoping for a nice new sharp set of drills (for drilling wood and the like) some girly-type pampery-products, and a great dinner out.

The floors are getting laid, polished, oiled and carpeted at our house this week. We are hoping to move into the newly renovated part of our house mid-september as financial needs-must.

The new kitchen made some big progress in the weekend, w. D and I fitting the now completed orange cupboards back on the cabinets. I am super pleased with the startling brightness of the orange and white.

Just deciding on knobs now. Here is a photo of the knobs I want to use (taped on).

They are vintage late 70's early 80's knobs that inspired the original design of this kitchen for me and I am really pleased that they look OK on the finished product. (Well I think they do!) I am especially pleased with the way they make the whole facade look a lot less serious!

They are just taped on at the moment...so that's why they are not quite straight.

Still need to fit the bench (currently being made off-site), oil the wooden floors, install the toekicks (at the base of the cabinets) electric hob, glass splashback and have the taps put in.

Sunday is the first anniversary of Kraftbomb and it's gonna be huge! 2 rooms full of local craft-tabulousness. Be there or be square.

My new Burnt Toast Leather Wallet will be making it's debut appearance. It's a life sized recreation of toast in leather, with a zip to hold all manner of goodies. Just have to sew a few up before Sunday.

The Long Arm of Climate Change

I wouldn't like to be one to poke fun at anothers strange physical attributes but...
Does our revered Prime minister have a freakish genetic deformity or has he just had an unfortunate brush with some mighty bad photoshopping?
I'm not sure...but that arm does look quite peculiar!

Orange Added

If you ignore the crap in the foreground and the clutter of screws and stuff on the shelves, you can well see all the fabulous orangeness that I have been labouriously applying to me new kitchen.
The Stainless Steel Bench dudes are coming next week to measure up - very exciting! Just have to finish applying orange stain to the upper cupboards and pantry doors and then polyurethane it and screw it all back together before they arrive.
Plus we now have real working lights, just like a real house.

Toast and Death.

Totally obsessed with toast today. Not eating it - just the word really and the look of it. So have whipped up a fabulous new burnt toast wallet-bag-thingy.
Just need to fine tune a few details and then will post some pictures.

Milo the pussy cat died a couple of weeks ago, so that is 2 pussy cats dead in 3 months. Argh! It seems his death comes as no surprise to relatives who had cared for him before my Gran died. Apparently he had terminal cancer, but no one thought to tell me before he came to live with me.
Ar what?!
I might have been saved a whole lot of stress and heartache not to mention guilt that I had killed my Gran's long suffering cat! So thanks for that!

Anyway we are officially petless, still have annoying children though so life's not all tea and cake or anything!

Thinking about getting a turtle.

A Glimpse into My Former Life

A ways back when I used to receive a real salary for the work I did...I use to gad about about in high heels, beehive hats and voluminous dresses. Seen here, presenting my new range I am poised ready to thump some admen over the head with my darling little handbag if they even so much as think of antagonizing me.
But really I needn't have worried because they are way too bedazzled by my voluptuous curves to even speak let alone come out of the shadows.
Oh they were glorious old times...

It's All White so Far...

Woohoo as of onset of darkness today this much of my future kitchen has been placed in this corner of the room...

Relatively unimpressive you say....well yes I hear you but I am excited because this has been a long time coming. Plus I have designed the set up, built these cabinets and lugged them into position my-very-self.

And of course there is a whole lot of orange lovelyness yet to be added, not to mention a very spangly Stainless Steel bench too! So not to worry I haven't been overcome by a nasty white virus or nothin'.

Tele Visual Bag

It's been a long time in the making.....years in fact.
I have even moved houses with this little baby in a state of unfinish.
But finally, I am pleased to announce the emergence of....(drum roll please)
The Sony Transistor TV Bag.

The finished beast - a devilishly handsome little number (I have Sony to thank for their fine design in TVs of course) that is useful to boot.

I have decided to list it on Etsy for sale, it pains me to do so as it really should be me that is rushing around town with this little number at my hip.
But... I have decided to try and be less sentimental and attempt to make some money instead.
You can read more about it here.

Good God I Look Great in this Bath!

Here I am in my newly renovated bathroom in a fantastic new blue bath.
Envious? I know you are!
Oh and you know how I hate to crow, but, through all the mess and stress and strain of renovating I have become lean, leggy, beautifully tanned, and a red head as you can plainly see.
Will wonders ever cease?
Anyway, luckily I had my trusty red lippy handy, when D dashed into the bathroom to get a candid shot of me looking gorgeous in the bath. Fabulous.

Update

Oh hi, just popped by to say that our house renovations are still ongoing, they don't look like they will be finished anytime soon... and they have taken over my life so much that I have become a dull and boring shadow of my once giddyingly interesting and creative self....ahem.
I am hoping to post some photos sometime in 2015 when they are finished.

Posh Spice and Glamour Barbie

I have just finished making all new and ever more ridiculous Jewelry Holders and I am just in the process of uploading them to Etsy, here.

Clockwise from top left:
  • Special Edition Posh Spice, circa 1997 - Jewelry Holder.
  • Barbie's (been overusing her GHD hair straightener, who can help her now) on vintage mahogany.
  • Just (some super-sexy Barbie) Legs - on vintage mahogany.
  • Barbie with Octopus Arms - on Granny's faux cut-crystal sandwich plate.
